Black Walnut has been used as an herbal remedy for centuries.  The leaves are used to make a soothing skin and eye wash and the powder from the green hulls is anti-parasitic. The bark has astringent properties. It is used as a poultice of green hulls for ringworm. The inner bark is used as a laxative.

Black Walnut helps protect  against heart disease and reduces cholesterol.  It is also used to lessen the flow of breast milk in nursing mothers.
