GINGER

Ginger has been used for centuries as an herbal remedy. It is used as an antacid because it blocks the breakdown of pepsinogen to pepsin which can cause peptic ulcers and it stimulates the conversion of cholesterol to bile acids which further cleanse the liver and gall bladder. Ginger is especially good for colon gas when taken before each meal. Ginger has shown some ability to shrink tumors.

Ginger has antispasmodic properties which help with arthritis pain and spasms. It is also said to have blood thinning and cholesterol lowering properties. It is used to control nausea resulting from morning sickness, motion sickness, seasickness and chemotherapy.

Ginger is also an excellent source of antioxidants. Its antihistamine properties make it useful for treating allergies and its anti-inflammatory properties are used to treat asthma.

Externally added to bath water it helps rid the body of waste and toxins by opening the pores.
