Mugwort has been used as an herbal remedy for many centuries. It has stimulant, tonic and diuretic properties as well as a tranquilizing effect.

As a nervine Mugwort is used to treat palsy, fits, and epileptic seizures. It is an old-fashioned remedy for epilepsy and is also used against hysteria. It is said to help to relax and dry the milk supply of a weaning mother.

The juice and an infusion of the herb was given for intermittent fevers and colds.

Japanese use Mugwort as a cure for rheumatism. Other uses include anxiety, asthma, stress, insomnia , infections, diarrhea, gas, fever, headache, depression and PMS symptoms.

CAUTION: Mugwort causes uterine contractions and should not be used during pregnancy.
