Pennyroyal has been used for centuries as an herbal remedy. It is used as a poultice on burns. It is also used on uterine muscle to promote contractions. Pennyroyal contains an oil which relieves headaches if inhaled.

Dried Pennyroyal has been used as a natural flea repellant when used in pet bedding and kennels.

The tea has been used to treat colds, stomach upset and respiratory problems.

Pennyroyal oil can be used as an insect repellant. The oil is used in aromatherapy to treat congestion, colds and whooping cough.

CAUTION: Do not take during early pregnancy or may cause abortion. At end of pregnancy however it may be used in combination with other herbs to make delivery easier. This herb may cause nausea, vomiting, insomnia or disturbed vision if taken in large doses.
