Queen of the Meadow has been used for thousands of years as an herbal remedy. It is a mild antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and sedative.  It contains salicylic acid as found in aspirin but is easier on the stomach due to its natural buffers.

Queen of the Meadow has been used as an anti-inflammatory to treat rheumatic complaints of the joints and muscles.  It is used to help break fevers and promote sweating during a cold or flu.  

Queen of the Meadow is also considered an excellent digestive remedy.  It protects and soothes the mucous membranes of the digestive tract, reducing excess acidity and alleviating nausea and it can be used in the treatment of heartburn, hyperacidity, gastritis and peptic ulceration. It is helpful for all types of bladder and kidney problems. 

Externally applications of this herb have included its use as an eyewash and a compress for rheumatic joints.
